Inside Paws HQ - March
The first quarter of 2023 is complete (we can’t believe it either!) and March has been yet another busy one at Paws in Work. We hosted 30 puppy therapy events throughout London and beyond, socialised a total of 6 litters of puppies and delivered 5 mental health courses; including our day of masterclasses for International Women’s Day. We welcomed 4 more staff members to the pack and the Paws in Work team enjoyed a well-deserved wellbeing day.

Wellbeing day
Our mission is to create a better life for people and pups, and that extends to the Paws in Work staff. That’s why in March, we all took a day to ourselves to switch off and do something that makes us happy.
We dedicate one day a quarter where our offices are closed, there is no event on and our out-of-offices are on. We all have incredibly busy schedules and it allows us to put time aside to think about our own wellbeing. Everyone’s mental health is different, and there is no blanket wellbeing ‘activity’ so that’s why we leave it up to our employees to do whatever they want - whether that is going for a 10k run or spending the day on the sofa with your favourite book and fluffy companion.
Welcome to the pack
March was an incredibly busy month, not just for events but for new starters joining the pack. We absolutely love welcoming new staff members to the team and this month we welcomed 4 to the evergrowing Paws in Work family.
Charlie joined the Sales Team as our latest Sales Executive, helping to scale and deliver our events across London and beyond. I’m sure he’ll pop down to a couple of events here and there to cuddle some puppies in between chatting with clients!
Our Event Team are at the heart of Paws in Work, surprising as it may seem, they don’t just play with puppies! They calmly and efficiently look after our pups and our customers, ensuring that both have a great day. So we are delighted to welcome, Dionne our Senior Event Team Member alongside our latest Event Team members, Katy and Carys!
Meet our litter of Cavapoos
We are incredibly lucky here at Paws to work with some amazing breeds, and in March we all fell in love with a litter of Cavapoos (no surprise there!). To honour National Epilepsy Week, we nicknamed them after all things Purple: Barney, Thistle, Plum, Violet, Lavender and Grape.

Congratulations, to our newest Mental Health First Aiders
Did you know that Paws in Work also offer Mental Health First Aid Training? As well as our Bespoke Masterclasses, we also deliver MHFA England-accredited courses to clients, both online and in person. Our trainer Olivia’s latest cohort of trainees were our friends at HelloFresh.
It’s now more important than ever to have Mental Health First Aiders at work, so if you’d like to find out more get in touch today to include Mental Health training within your workplace wellbeing strategy.
Special visit
Paws in Work offer puppy therapy events to events across London and just beyond, so we’ve got to visit some amazing places over the years. In March we visited Ambassador Theatre Group based within the Lyceum Theatre, the home of Lion King. Though one of our rules is 'no Lion King moments with the puppies, we had the best day socialising a litter of Cocker Spaniels. Some of us even got to sit in the Royal Circle and watch puppet training whilst working - now that’s taking hybrid working to the next level.
Got a unique workplace you’d like us to visit? Get in touch today and get ready for your best day at work ever!
Crufts
The Paws in Work breeder team, along with our founder Ashley and director Adam, got the opportunity to visit Crufts last month. They were able to speak to Breeders from all over the UK to learn about how they operate and what they are doing to encourage ethical breeding. It was also an opportunity to shout about how we operate at Paws in Work and the benefits of our socialisation programme.
Of course, they also got to meet a variety of dog breeds, from tiny West Highland terriers, Pugs and Shih Tzus, to the larger Bernese Mountain dogs, Golden Retrievers and Hungarian Vizslas. They even got to meet breeds that they rarely get to encounter, including the Lagotto Romagnolo, which ended up taking home the title of Crufts’ Best in Show!
They already can’t wait for next year.
