Here at Paws in Work, we always get told that we have the best job in the world and we really can’t deny it. We get to play with puppies and are constantly surrounded by happy people, some would say it’s not even a real job?! So we’re here to fill you in on what has been happening at Paws HQ.
We had the pleasure of socialising a litter of French Bulldog puppies this month who were appropriately named for the platinum jubilee. Queen Elizabeth was a particular hit; a platinum pup for a platinum jubilee!
Towards the end of the month, our hearts were well and truly melted when six cheeky chocolate Labradors began their programme with us at Paws In Work. They were confident as soon as they got in and provided puppy therapy attendees (and staff) with plenty of kisses and attention.
We are always encouraging attendees to switch off, take some time away from their desks and enjoy our puppy therapy sessions, so it was our turn to do the same and take some time for ourselves. We all enjoyed a well-being day, a chance to focus on our mental health and do something we normally wouldn’t have the chance to do. We had breakfasts with friends, visits to castles, a well-deserved cuppa on the sofa, nail appointments and trips to the gym - the perfect end to a busy week!

To celebrate the end of another quarter (where has this year gone?!) we ended our wellbeing day by heading out as a team for our summer social. Hijngo Bingo was the first stop and we had the best time playing - though sadly none of us won. Our next stop was Queen of Hoxton - where we spent the majority of our time at the photo booth or dancefloor!
Our Jubilee puppies had their 15 minutes of fame on TikTok, meet the litter here - it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Puppy welfare is at the heart of what we do at our Paws in Work sessions, so sadly any loveable office dogs are unable to interact with any of our puppies. However, It doesn’t stop them from trying. In this case, HelloFresh’s resident Dachshund Daisy who spent her whole meeting wishing she could join in.
She did nevertheless get a lot of attention from the Paws in Work staff (after sniffing them up and down!)
June kicked off with Men's Health Week and our founder Ashley Fry spent some well-deserved time away with his family - he shares why it's so important to switch off:
"This year I spent Men's Health Week in Crete with my family on our first summer holiday abroad since having my son Teddy which gave us all a chance to unwind a little away from the day-to-day noise. Although the holiday was far from relaxing with a very excited toddler, a bit of sun, a pool and an ice-cold beer gave us time to reflect, appreciate and most importantly give ourselves credit, on just how far we have come over the last 4 years.
A break-away gives time to surround yourself with new surroundings and hit the refresh button, try new things and meet new people. I had a chance to catch up on some overdue reading (at Teddy's nap time) and would recommend 'Rocket Fuel' as an easy-to-follow business-related book that will get you thinking differently on your day-to-day runnings.
I'd urge anyone to take a break away from their day-to-day surroundings, even just for a little camping trip. After so long, I completely forgot just how beneficial having some time away can be for the mind"
