what gets their tail wagging most? The ‘f’ word, Food!
what job do apollo and dominic do? Working from home on The Dogs blog, and a few others. We manage a few sites, try to help others boost their rankings and do a bit of SEO. We go and get some fresh air during the day with a bit of a walk around the village.
what was their first day in the office like? Apollo is a rescue, so his first few weeks were very quiet. He was unsure and we thought he was a very good and quiet pup. But after he settled in he realised that he was home and got a bit more vocal. He likes to bark at people and vans outside our house. His favourite time of day is when the post man arrives, someone to bark at and then try to take a bite out of the invading post as it comes through the door!
how often does apollo go to the office? Apollo is with me every day! It is easy to tell when he wants something as he comes up to me and puts his paw on my arm. It is sometimes fuss, but usually he wants to go for a walk. He does not quite understand that occasionally work has to take priority.
what is apollo's favourite thing to do in the office? It would probably be that he likes to bark at the post man. He loves protecting his property. Getting fuss is probably a close second and somehow he knows exactly what time his food is due.
does apollo like sharing his office space? Apollo loves getting human visitors. He loves the extra attention he gets, and as a German Shepherd he is pretty hard to miss! He is a bit on the fence about other dog visitors as he is quite protective. We were told that Apollo missed important puppy socialisation time so is not too sure what to do around other dogs. Apollo loves to chase cats, so they are probably low on his list of sharing his space.
other than you (of course) who is apollo’s favourite colleague? Well, the only other person working at home is my wife, so it would have to be her. I am the one who tends to walk him, and she is the one to feed him. He loves his walks, but I think if he has a choice, food would top his list.
how has having apollo at work improved the working environment? Yes, he has improved our house and when he has been away it has felt a bit too quiet without him. I am not sure if our neighbours would agree!
does apollo ever get up to mischief/any embarrassing office stories? The worst thing he does is bark during calls. This is particularly annoying as he does have quite a loud bark. On top of this, he learnt fairly quickly that if you put him in the garden, so he is not disturbing the call, he will be shut out. So now when you try to get him out he continues to bark whilst walking backwards, making the problem worse!
